The Leibniz-Institute for Educational Trajectories invites applications for the following part-time position (salary according to the collective agreement "TV-L" max. E13, 50%), limited to 13 month (to be prolonged subject to further funding):

Science Communication Position (w/m/d) in the project ENTAILab

The Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi), with about 250 employees, is an independent research and infrastructure institution for empirical educational research and a member of the Leibniz Association. The core of the institute is the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS), the largest long-term educational study in Germany.

 
Your work environment
 
ENTAILab is the core infrastructural service and research centre of the “New Data Spaces” program, a DFG-funded multi-local infrastructure research programme distributed across several institutes and universities in Germany. The programme aims at innovating the data landscape available for social science research by improving, enhancing, and combining existing data sources and data that have only recently become available. ENTAILab integrates four measures: (1) Build on and Develop Existing Panel Studies, (2) Research-driven Infrastructure for Advanced Survey-related Data (CIRCLET), (3) Protection and Data Ethics, and (4) Results for Future Data Spaces and Open Science. The position is located in ENTAILab Measure 4 “Results for Future Data Spaces and Open Science”. 
The person filling this position will work in close cooperation with the members of the “New Data Spaces” programme committee and the Managing Director of CONNECT, the coordination and management project of New Data Spaces for the Social Sciences. ENTAILab Measure 4 and CONNECT collaborate to ensure that the knowledge and best practices developed in the “New Data Spaces” programme are compiled, summarized, and made available to the scientific community and the public. Your tasks

  • Lead communication strategy for knowledge transfer and open science to maximize reach and impact for the programme and projects
  • Plan and create content for the dissemination of the project results and programme outputs across multiple formats and channels for the scientific community and the public, including reports, flyers, LinkedIn posts, website news, etc.
  • Communicate and liaise with individual projects within New Data Spaces program to capture publications and information to inform content for dissemination 
  • Manage programme website (new-data-spaces.de), including updates, module development, and content
  • Manage digital collaboration platform on Microsoft Teams
  • Develop content and materials for programme events and conferences
  • Oversee external contractors and manage vendor relationships (i.e., design agency, printer)

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in social science (empirical educational research, psychology, sociology, pedagogy, survey statistics, computer science) or communications (marketing, media and communications, science management, science journalism)
  • Strong content creation skills: copywriting in English, web management, content planning and scheduling, basic graphic design, print management 
  • Experience in leading strategic science communications programs preferred
  • Experience with website content management systems preferred (e.g., DotNetNuke 2sxc)
  • Substantive knowledge of social empirical research, survey methods, and/or computer science specifically panel surveys and machine learning 
  • Excellent knowledge of English and good knowledge of German 
  • The ability to work in interdisciplinary and multi-local teams
