The Leibniz-Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) is an independent infrastructure facility conducting empirical educational research and associated with the University of Bamberg. LIfBi is responsible for operating the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS). The main task of this long-term project is the provision of representative data on competence development and educational trajectories in Germany.

Your work environment:

You are working in a team of about 200 employees with academic and non-academic work focus at our location in Bamberg. The position is part of the DFG-project ‚Conceptual Replications – Guidelines for implementation and factors influencing replicability across different fields in psychology‘ (PIs: Dr. Marie-Ann Sengewald, Prof. Dr. Steffi Pohl, Prof. Dr. Anne Gast & Dr. Matthias Twardawski). Cooperation partners are Vivian Wong (University of Virginia) and Peter Steiner (University of Maryland), who lead the Collaboratory Replication Lab. Goals of the project are the implementation, development, and interdisciplinary comparison of design and analysis techniques for investigating factors that impact the replicability of research results. Therefore, concepts and methods from causal inference research will be transferred to replication studies and will be applied in social and cognitive psychology together with the PIs. The project is integrated into the Priority Program META-REP (SPP 2317) that supports and organizes the exchange between different projects in Germany for analyzing and optimizing replicability in the behavioral, social, and cognitive sciences. In addition, the project is affiliated to the research unit Educational Measurement at the LIfBi, offering various options for exchanging views.
