The Leibniz-Institute for Educational Trajectiories is searching at the earliest possible date for the duration of initially 12 months a

Student Assistant (f/m/d) to support the research project "Unequal trajectories: Spatial dynamics in refugees‘ multidimensional integration" (UneTra)

The Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi), with about 250 employees, is an independent research and infrastructure institution for empirical educational research and a member of the Leibniz Association. The core of the institute is the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS), the largest long-term educational study in Germany.
 

Your work environment

The position is located in Department 2 "Educational Decisions and Processes, Migration, Returns to Education“ .

The place of employment is at Wilhelmsplatz 3 and Augustenstreet 20 in Bamberg or remote by arrangement. The amount of work includes approx. 40 hours per month.

Your tasks

  • Supporting the preparation, analysis, and visualization of quantitative data
  • Conducting literature research and managing bibliographic data
  • Providing organizational support in the planning and implementation of academic events
  • Assisting with academic publications (e.g., formatting, proofreading, preparation of tables and figures)

Your profile

  • Enrolled in a Master’s program in a social science discipline or a related field
  • Strong command of English (spoken and written); knowledge of German is an asset but not required
  • Interest in quantitative data analysis and research on migration and integration
  • Basic skills in working with common statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, or Python)
  • A reliable, accurate, and detail-oriented work style
  • Ability to work independently and willingness to learn new tools and processes (research software)
